About 160 exhibitors from about 14 countries or regions participated in the Macao Franchise Expo 2013, which opened here Friday.

The three-day event attracted exhibitors from European and Asian countries such as , Britain, Italy, , Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.

Companies of various industries, including food and beverages, leisure and entertainment, retail, services and education, showcased their brands at the expo.

Co-organized by the city's Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and other associations and institutions, this year's franchise expo has a total exhibition area of 6,000 square meters with over 230 booths.

A main forum, business matching sessions and products/services presentations will also be held during the expo.
