CCCME President Zhang Yujing and Vice President Liu Chun met with U.S. California Senator Robert M. Hertzberg
On the morning of July 14, CCCME President Zhang Yujing and Vice President Liu Chun met with U.S. California Senator Robert M. Hertzberg and his assistant Mr. Jeff Leader. The two sides exchanged views on promoting cooperation in key areas, expanding exchange channels and speeding up information flow.
CCCME President Zhang Yujing believed that as China and the U.S. enjoyed an increasingly closer economic and trade contact, CCCME members showed deep interests in investing in the U.S. and strong demand to interact with American counterparts. Mr. Hertzberg was welcome to establish regular contact with Joint Working Group, strengthen cooperation in such key areas as rail transit, energy conservation, environmental protection and finance & investment, etc. and update the problems Chinese companies encounter in the process of investing, so as to together bring China-California cooperation to a new level.
Mr. Hertzberg introduced the progresses of bilateral projects in energy, environmental protection and investment based on his rich career experience in House and Senate and in business. He hoped both sides leverage respective advantages, strengthen communication, build investment platform for Chinese companies and jointly provide professional services in legal, consulting and exhibition areas.
Through deep exchanges, the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in the following areas. Firstly, to establish regular contact mechanism by exchanging information on projects and events and by giving feedback of the problems Chinese companies encounter and trying to address them; second, to co-organize profession economic events such as seminar on China-US economy & trade taking the opportunity of bilateral visits; third, to boost the bilateral cooperation in such areas as energy conservation, environmental protection, infrastructure, finance and investment, etc..
