In the first four months of 2011, sales of home appliances to rural areas reached 39.515 million units, hitting 94.43 billion yuan, up by 91% and 128% year on year respectively. In April 2011, a total of 3.288 million units of home appliances were sold to rural areas, with sales values hitting 8.72 billion yuan, down by 31% and 12% year on year respectively. By the end of April, the accumulated sales volume of home appliances reached 154 million units with the value of 336.03 billion yuan, with the total subsidy of 39.17 billion yuan.



By commodity, sales of color TV sets and refrigerators were ranked the first and second nationwide, accounting for 58% of the total sales. By region, the top two provinces in terms of sales value are Henan and Shandong, with sales values both exceeding 10 billion yuan. Total sales of the two provinces reached 22.59 billion yuan, accounting for 25% of the total nationwide.
